Can I extract text from a scanned PDF?

Scanned PDFs are stored as images, so text cannot be extracted. This tool works with text-based PDFs (created digitally). Scanned PDFs need a separate OCR tool.

What is the difference between the three modes?

"Keep line breaks" preserves the original PDF layout. "Join sentences" removes line breaks to connect sentences. "Clean paragraphs" keeps paragraph spacing but removes inner line breaks.

Will Korean text work correctly?

Yes. Korean, English, numbers, and special characters are all extracted correctly. If the PDF font was not embedded, some characters may appear garbled.

Are my files sent to a server?

No. Everything is processed in your browser. Files never leave your device and are cleared when you close the tab.

How many pages can I process at once?

Up to 200 pages on desktop and 50 on mobile. For long documents, specify a page range to extract in parts.

Can I extract just certain pages?

Yes. Enter a page range and only those pages will be extracted.

Is table content extracted?

Text inside tables is extracted, but the table structure (rows and columns) is not preserved. Text appears in reading order.

Can I clean up the extracted text further?

Yes. If extra whitespace or line breaks remain, use the "Text Cleaner" tool for a second pass.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

No. Unlock the PDF first, then try again.

Is formatting (bold, color) preserved?

Text extraction produces plain text only. Formatting is not included.
