SRT (SubRip Text) is the most widely used subtitle format. It contains cue numbers, start/end timestamps, and text. Most video editors and players support it.

What is the difference between "Blank" and "Even split"?

"Blank" sets all timestamps to 00:00:00,000 so you can adjust timing in your editor. "Even split" divides the total duration equally across all cues.

Are my files sent to a server?

No. Everything is processed in your browser. The text you enter is never sent to any server and is released when you close the tab.

What is the maximum number of lines?

Up to 500 lines. For longer texts, split them into batches.

Can I edit the timing after generating?

Yes. The SRT file is plain text. Open it in any text editor or subtitle editor to fine-tune timestamps.

Does one line become one subtitle cue?

Yes. Each non-empty line becomes one cue. Blank lines and whitespace-only lines are automatically removed.

Which video editors can import SRT files?

Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, and most other editors support SRT import.

What encoding is the generated file?

UTF-8. All characters, including non-Latin scripts, display correctly.

What if I don't know the video duration?

Choose "Blank" mode. You can set the timing later in your subtitle editor while watching the video.
